Almost 20 years after the first steps were taken to reduce its impact on the environment, McDonald's France is making its actions clearer by consolidating the various progress initiatives within the EcoProgress Plan.

The aim of redefining the company's environmental strategy is to make it easier to understand for all internal and external stakeholders, to reiterate the company's approach to the entire life cycle of its fast food business and to reaffirm the brand's environmental commitment at a time when its sustainable development strategy is emerging.

The EcoProgress plan is built around three main pillars. While the issue of greenhouse gases remains the priority for action, no environmental criterion has been overlooked: raw materials, water, energy, waste, work on upstream and downstream processes, buildings, logistics and local integration are all issues included in this plan.

The 3 pillars of the EcoProgress plan reflect the comprehensiveness of McDonald's France's environmental action :

  • Actions upstream of the restaurants: deployment of the agroecological strategy, reduction of impacts in suppliers' factories and optimisation of logistics.

  • Actions within the restaurants: deployment of the energy and natural resources management plan, landscaping integration and energy efficiency of buildings, reducing the impact of employee travel.

  • Actions downstream of the restaurants: deployment of the Abandoned Packaging Programme, eco-design of packaging, sorting and recovery of end-of-life waste, etc.

The Green Marathon at Rennes School of Business offers 6 events (marathon, relay, duo, 10 km, Women's, and Family Walk) all of which are part of an environmental approach: 1 km traveled = 1 tree planted!
